Manhattan Gymnastics Academy originally began as Gymnastics Plus in 2003 when Pam Kasper and Sue Donnelly, two gym moms, put together some money and began what they thought would be a gym in which their daughters could train and compete in gymnastics.  In actuality, a new and successful business began that Manhattan needed: a place that children and young adults could "explore their possibilities and experience the fun".

Ten years and many gymnasts later, Sue decided to devote her life to family and golf, handing her half of Gymnastics Plus to Jeryka Lobner, head coach of the GymPlus competitive teams.

Jeryka, herself a competitive gymnast in her younger years, had a dream. That dream was to someday own her own gym. On December 17, 2012, that dream came true. She became the new owner of Gymnastics Plus. In August 2014 Gymnastics Plus was rebranded as Manhattan Gymnastics Academy

Jeryka was proud to not only lead Manhattan Gymnastics Academy in new directions, but she is dedicated to make the gym the absolute best it can be.  Jeryka lost her battle to cancer in January 2015, her dedicated staff (with their angle on their shoulder) are continuing her connect the dreams of athletes with reality.
